Walk! Bike! Fun! Curriculum

The Minnesota Walk! Bike! Fun! Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Curriculum is a two-part curriculum designed specifically for Minnesota’s schools and youth education programs. It is structured to meet Minnesota education standards and is an important part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School Program. Walk! Bike! Fun! helps children ages five to 13 learn traffic rules and regulations, the potential hazards to traveling, and handling skills needed to bike and walk effectively, appropriately and safely through their community.

Technical Assistance Implementing Walk! Bike! Fun!

The Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota is offering free technical assistance for schools or youth organizations who want help starting a program using the Walk! Bike! Fun! curriculum to teach kids safe walking and bicycling skills. Answer a few short questions identifying your needs in the request form.

Bicycle Fleets

A set of bicycles that is purchased for a school or school district for the use of bike-related student events. Bike fleets are used by students to promote healthy and active living and encourage biking to school. Bike fleets are used for class bike rides, bike clubs, class field trips, in-class biking instruction, bicycle rodeos, and integrated SRTS educational events with classroom teachers.
